Featured Seller: Catherine Marissa

Dear Angry Etsy Forum Posters:

How I love the forums.

I love the ideas, the cameraderie, the sense of play. And I love the drama.

I'm sorry, I do. I know that's very low-brow for me to admit. I know I should claim to ignore it in favor of reading the classics.

But no. It's a train wreck I just can't ignore.

I have plenty to say on most topics, but, really, who cares what I think? So I just read everything, then talk about all of you behind your backs. To my husband. Who has no idea what I am going on about.

You know what would heal all of us? SHOPPING THERAPY.

And, personally, I would start with this:

One look at this lovely lady's page is enough to make the venom evaporate, even if just for a few moments. It's so pretty and colorful and fun. She's got a great range of prices and all sorts of styles.

So seriously people -- stop being angry and start being MATERIALISTIC! It's the American way.

Love and money orders,
Powderpuff

Catherine Marissa

Your real name
Catherine

Fifth grade teacher?
Mrs. Shaw - I remember we got to do ceramics in her class. I made a sleeping raccoon for my Grandpa and a sleeping bunny for me. Guess I was really into napping even back then.

When did you first start crafting?
My mom did craft shows when I was young, so I used to craft alongside her. I mostly strung beads on pipe cleaners or painted at the easel. I liked making Christmas ornaments with beads and clay.

Got a day job? What is it?
I have a day (and night) job taking care of a two year old and a seven week old. Some wouldn't classify it as a job since I'm not making money doing it, but I do get paid in hugs, mispronounced words, and coos.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
My kids since they are so darn cute and smart. Craftwise, I was really pleased with a necklace I made with a whole lotta crystal in it.

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
Hmmm...I don't think anything was ever ugly, but I sure had a lot that got taken apart and made into something else. ;)

Explain your etsy shop name.
It's my name. It seems totally lacking creativity, but you'd be surprised how many people compliment my business name and ask how I came up with it.

Angelina or Jen?
That whole thing is just wrong, but I guess I'd pick Jen since I feel sorry for her.

Final words?
Come check me out and let me know what you think. I always appreciate feedback, good or bad and love getting suggestions for jewelry that people would like to see in the shop. Oh yeah, you have to shop Etsy! It's full of talented people and unique crafts.

Featured Seller: Antelucan Daisy Designs

So last night I was watching Red Dawn.

You KNOW! Red Dawn -- that 80s movie where the Russians (I think) attack the United States and Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Grey, that Guy Who Got Knifed in The Outsiders become guerilla warriors.

Remember NOW???

Anyway, I'm watching that movie last night and decided that if the communists attack Austin, I want to be seen in these:

Why? Because they're so interesting and elegant and lovely that the Communists would be hypnotized by them. Then I could kick them in the shins and run to the mountains while planning my revenge with a young but full of potential Charlie Sheen.

And that's how I spent my evening.

On to our featured seller, and creator of Communist Distraction Earrings, Antelucan Daisy Designs.

Your Shop Name
Antelucan Daisy Designs.

Your real name
Katherine

Fifth grade teacher?
Mrs Cheatwood.

When did you first start crafting?
With little bits of wood and fabric from my parent's workrooms. My dad still has a little balsa wood boat I built and decorated for him. It's hideous but fun.

Got a day job? What is it?
I'm a graduate student in entomology at Louisiana State (yes- that's bugs), and on the weekends I work at a local quilt shop here in Baton Rouge doing machine quilting and teaching classes.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I'm not sure there's any one creation that I'm more proud of than others (other than possibly my first set of knotted pearls that don't slip- but they're not for sale) I really love that I've been working with using non-traditional materials (like scrapbooking stuff, letter tiles from games, vintage buttons etc.) to make awesome and fun things. I'm really proud of the alphabet soup bracelet and counting bracelets just because I think they're really different. I also like things that make people look twice...

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
Oh dear. The outfit I made for 4H-sewing when I was a kid... I remember ocean print culottes and a matching vest with shells and a teal t-shirt and tote bag. I asked my mother not too long ago "Why did you let me use that fabric... it's hideous!" and she replied "that's what you picked out, it was your project, you loved it." I guess that's what happened in the 80s :)

Explain your etsy shop name.
Antelucan means "after the night falls" so it's daisies that bloom after the night falls.

Angelina or Jen?
Angelina.

Final words?
nope. not really other than I love etsy :)

Featured Seller: Moda Designs Jewellery

When I was in 5th grade, I REALLY wanted to be named Jennifer.

Jennifer M. was the most popular girl in our school. Everyone wanted to sit next to her during lunch. So much so that reservations had to be made early in the morning or one could end up sitting 5 people removed from La Jennifer. And as any social climbing 5th grader knows, that would NOT DO.

I never got to sit near Jennifer. The closest I ever got, I think, was twice removed.

I never really understood Miss J's popularity. She was not pretty. And she barely qualified as nice. She did not deserve her popularity. SHE DID NOT!

But you know who does? Moda Designs Jewellry.

How I love this lady. She's sweet and talented and always has time to answer a stupid question or two.

Everyone cheer the woman who SHOULD have been the most popular girl in my class Moda Designs Jewellry!

Your Shop Name
Moda Designs Jewellery (Yes, that is how it is spelled in Canada, and most of the English-speaking world. I prefer the shortened American version, but for business licensing in Canada...)

Your real name
Gina (Yes, I was born in Italy, no I don't remember anything, I got home just in time to "watch" the moon walk...)

Fifth grade teacher?
Fifth or sixth, I forget which; Mrs. Therio (as in Cheerio). The poor first-year teacher! She had 3 Lisas, 2 Lauries, a Jenny, a Jenna, and a Gina! But worst of all, the school system put Gina and Laurie in the same class-room! We were hell-raisers! ;D

When did you first start crafting?
Probably around 2 years-old!

Got a day job? What is it?
Nope, I'm handicapped due to a run-in with a young driver wherein I was in the cross-walk! I bought a house and a business start-up from the insurance settlement. Etsy IS my job!

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I've got a favorite pearl and vermeil spacer that look great together. I've put it into several sets including my Rubies set and my Emeralds set! (send me a photo link and we can post pic)

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
Um, I didn't keep photos. Some of my early stuff was pretty nasty-looking!

Explain your etsy shop name.
Moda is Italian for fashion. I've used it through the last 3 businesses!

Angelina or Jen?
Who cares? No TV hook-up. I can't justify $600/year for yet another veg-out tool. I spend all day on the computer, I don't need to spend all night in front of a TV!

Final words?
I try to make my designs affordable for all budgets. I can swap supplies and stones to make a design more affordable if someone desires a design but can't afford it. Please convo me about how I can assist you in making your desires a reality!
I also sell supplies in http://cheapboutique.etsy.com

Featured Seller: Girly Girl Bags

This is an Etsy 911 moment.

So I'm sitting here on a Sunday morning, trying to bring YOU -- my BELOVED READERS -- the best and brightest of Etsy and what's happening?

The 15-month old is refusing Fruity Pebbles and demanding chicken nuggets. The 4 year old is jumping on the furniture and pretending not to know one of his friends. My annoying dog keeps begging to go outside, then begging to come inside.

I stink. I haven't showered in (insert embarassing number of days here). Let's not even talk about my diet.

My only refuge is this:

This is an emergency. I need beauty, style, comfort.

Girly Girl Bags, take me away...

Your Shop Name
Girly Girl Bags

Your real name
Deb

Fifth grade teacher?
I have no idea... ;-)

When did you first start crafting?
As a child, my mom used to organize little craft get togethers with neighborhood kids.

Got a day job? What is it?
I work for a non profit, The Arc Hamilton County - its an advocacy agency that works with people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. I do Quality Assurance reviews for people with disabilities who live in the community- to ensure they are satisfied with thier residential services

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I really like how this felted bag turned out, it was sent to Martha Stewart in an Etsy promo basket -

girly

Explain your etsy shop name.
My niece told me I used to be a "tom girl" and that now I am a "girly girl" so hence the name!

Angelina or Jen?
Jen

Final words?
My father in law refurbishes sewing machines and kept trying to give me one. I kept telling him I had no interest in sewing until my sister in law showed me some placemat purses she made. I started sewing on a little plastic Singer then graduated up to my Huskvarna. This was two years ago and I haven't looked back since!

Featured Seller: SweetyPrize

Oh SweetyPrize.

Your real first name -- Catherine -- brings back such memories.

Catherine was the name of my first shrink. Well, technically, she was a psychologist, but whatever. A shrink is a shink is a shrink in my (admittedly twisted) mind.

ANYWAY. Catherine was great. She was tall and thin with a hippie vibe to her flowing skirts and greying hair. She was so nice. She'd been married three times, which made her human and (maybe?) pretty experienced to be doling out the advice.

She liked Cirque Du Soleil. Good times, good times...

And now, take a peek at our next featured seller (but not my shrink) SweetyPrize.

Your Shop Name
SweetyPrize

Your real name
Catherine

Fifth grade teacher?
Mrs. Wilkins

When did you first start crafting?
Before Mrs. Wilkins!

Got a day job? What is it?
I trudge out to government meetings and then write about it.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I made my bed spread. It is only the fourth project I made and I've yet to finish it, it is so big. It is the same double crochet about fifty million times, but it is so colorful. I made it entirely out of scrap yarn, so that is how it managed to be so colorful. Runner up is my cassette tape creations. I couple yarn with cassette tape and crochet items that way, bags and hats and coasters. Nifty. I also took my entire bedroom set and decoupaged it in fancy papers and ephemera, and stained it blue before sealing it.

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
I took two white shoulder pads out of a blazer, stitched them together, sewed a flamingo patch on it and then made a plaid design with fabric marker. It fits my iPod. It's ridiculous.

Explain your etsy shop name.
I am a sweety, and so is my fiance. He is a prize. He's the sweety prize. Sometimes, as a sweety, you can get smooches because you are so sweet. And that's your prize for being a sweety.

Angelina or Jen?
I'd choose Brad, I suppose.

Final words? I don't like patterns.
I like inspiration. I like looking at something and seeing what else it could become. I'd rather make something myself than go out and buy it. I'd rather be seen as a clever and creative person than an artist.

Featured Seller: Make It Your Own

Man, I envy people who can't remember their fifth grade teacher.

Like our next featured seller, Make It Your Own. She thinks back, she draws a blank.

I think back, I get Mrs. Stokes.

Mrs. Stokes (who I believe is dead and, therefore, ineligible to file a libel lawsuit against me) was a a real troll. Old, puffy, and cranky, she never laughed. She never smiled. She insulted her students. Her favorite hobby was to ask kids to stand up in front of the class if they got less than a 75 on a test.

Shame -- a time tested teaching technique.

Make It Your Own I envy your educational amnesia! Also, I envy your ability to make wonderful things like THIS:

Your Shop Name
Make It Your Own

Your Real Name
Julie

Fifth Grade Teacher?
Don't Remember

When did you first start crafting?
Girl Scouts

Got a day job?
Homemaker 24/7!!!

What creation are you most proud of and why?
A tapestry for a friend..very moving for me to make...

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
I probably threw it out

Explain your Etsy shop name.
Make It Your Own ...is about me making useful things! For examle: purses, tapestries, pins, accessories, pillows, home decor, some clothing. I also make cards. They are much nicer and more personal than store bought cards. I have talent and creative ideas and I like to put my unique findings together and make something special that someone will appreciate and buy!

Angelina or Jen:
Jen for sure...She is great!

Final Words:
I have no idea where this is going. Might even be embarrassed by what I have written. But I am a real person, with real dreams and love to be with others. I love coffee, conversation, music, laughter and companionship. Need to be making something all the time. I would like to connect in real life with other creative people. That would be very cool.

Featured Seller: Black Orchid Designs

These things make me cry:

Any episode of Little House on the Prairie in which Pa cries, Laura runs away or someone learns a lesson

The sight of my burgeoning second roll of fat

The memory of Law and Order Trial By Jury and its sudden, TRAGIC cancellation

The sight of my piece of crap, leaky roofed, window won't roll downed, sagging ceilinged 1997 Saturn.

The thought of world peace? Not so much. But our next featured seller has memories of teary-eyed teacher with much deeper emotions. Read more about Black Orchid Designs right here...

Your Shop Name
Black Orchid Designs

Your real name
Keelin (say like Key-Lynn, I receive many different pronunciations)

Fifth grade teacher?
Mrs. Mele. She used to cry a lot during class because she always wanted to have world peace. Also, I remember her telling my class that her new cat at the time loved to eat earthworms. She was a character and I loved her!

When did you first start crafting?
I was too young to remember. The first thing I actually do remember making was a drawing of the world with little fishes all over it. I remember working on it for hours and hours and then I gave it to my dad. I must have been around three or four years old. Then a few years later I was able to go to work with him and I saw it in his office. I think he still has it to this day.

Got a day job? What is it?
This is my last semester in college right now and being a full-time student is my main job. My other job is helping to organize an after school math tutoring program for inner-city children. I love it, the kids are great and its such a wonderful feeling to see them learning and positively planning for their future.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
A necklace and earring set I recently made my mother for Christmas. I spent a lot of time on it and she wears it everyday!

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
Hmmm…I wish I had a picture of it, but I don’t. I was taking a color course and had to do a painting exemplifying anger. Apparently, it was really gruesome because my roommate at the time, who is deathly afraid of Bloody Mary, walked in my room while I was working on it and freaked out. It was ugly because it really looked like blood and guts were spilled all over the place. After my roommate would not even step in my room because of it. All in all, it was pretty funny scaring her! Hehehe….

Explain your etsy shop name.
Orchids are seen as a symbol of perfection, love, and beauty. During the Middle Ages they were used in love potions. It is also my favorite flower. I like to think that the Orchid is symbolizing my jewelry creations and exemplifying my love for my work and its perfection to me.
Why a black orchid? For the longest time, I’ve wanted a black orchid, but they simply do not exist. So, I created them in my imagination and named my business Black Orchid Designs.

Angelina or Jen?
Well to be honest, I don’t follow Hollywood at all and I really don't know what is going on with either of them, but going from what I do know I would have to say Angelina. She has put a lot of work and promotion into world issues such as AIDS, poverty, and children. I think she is putting her fame and influence to good use and working to make a difference.

Final words?
I want to say thank you to Andrea of Powderpuff Creations for featuring me! She has put so much work into this little site just to promote Esty artists. It is a very kind thing to go out of her own way to help others.
Also, thank you to the creators of Esty who have made all this possible. I think many artists who previously thought that the world would not support them in doing what they wanted to do have fulfilled their dreams because of Etsy.

Featured Seller: Mountain Eagle Crafter

It's cold and grey and creepy outside. I don't need this depressing weather nonsense.

That's why I am officially closing myself off in a bubble of color until spring. I will only wear fabulously colorful things, only think about fabulously colorful things and only LOOK AT fabulously colorful things.

Things like this:

Ahhhhhh. I feel so much better now!

You will too after you check out MountainEagleCrafter .

Your Shop Name
MountainEagleCrafter

Your real name
Susan

Fifth grade teacher?
"Miss Chris". I don't think I ever knew her last name; it was one of those strange Montessori schools. And she was one strange lady.

When did you first start crafting?
I started knitting at 8. One day I was poking around in my mother's things and found some yarn and knitting needles. When I took them to her and asked what on Earth they were, she taught me to knit instead of walloping me for being where I shouldn't have been, in the deep depths of a closet. Heh!

Got a day job? What is it?
Nope. I'm one of the many Etsy sellers living with disabilities.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
An "Oddball Shawl" that I haven't yet gotten Etsy-worthy photographs of. It won first place in the 2005 Tennesee State Fair for "Original Creative Design".

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
A crocheters' Yahoogroup once held an "Ugly Square Contest" and sold the resulting afghans to benefit one of our members. I'm not quite sure what this says about me: I won first place in 3 out of the 5 categories. *shudder*

Explain your Etsy shop name.
I live on a mountain in Tennessee that is known locally as "Monteagle Mountain". Yes, that's somewhat redundant. (Monteagle is the only town in the county that abuts the Interstate.) When I decided to try my hand at selling my handknits, I went to sign up for a free email address that would be dedicated to crafty things. "Eagle Mountain" and similar were already taken, so I ended up choosing "Mountain_Eagle_Crafter". Several years later, it was the natural choice for my shop name.

Angelina or Jen?
Who? I suppose my not-owning-a-TV is showing.

Final words?
One of my favorite Etsy things is making custom orders. If something in my shop isn't "just right" for what you want - or if you want something made that you have not been able to find *anywhere* - let me know. I'd love to make something that will delight you!

Featured Seller: Red Panda Chainmail

OK confession time.

When I saw the name of our next featured seller's name -- Red Panda Chainmail -- I thought she was writing chain mail in support of pandas.

I did not realize she made gems like this:

Don't hate me because I'm stupid. But love Red Panda Chainmail because she's a crafting genius!

It's only right.

Your Shop Name
Red Panda Chainmail

Your real name
Jessica!

Fifth grade teacher?
Her name was Mrs Waldron and she was the meanest teacher I ever had. She would always give me pink slips and tell me I was holding my pencil wrong. (I hold it between my third and pinky fingers almost like in a fist instead of like normal.)

When did you first start crafting?
I started this kind of crafting about two years ago. My best friend's floydfriend inspired me to start doing chainmail, and I've only grown since then! I now use beads, and I've learned a lot more weaves since then. I've also started to get into sterling silver. Sterling is expensive!

Got a day job? What is it?
I do! I work at a hotel. Inside my hotel (Gaylord Opryland), there is a river. That is right. A river inside of a hotel. There are boats on this river. Real boats. I drive the boats and give tours while doing it. People listen to me and love me and sometimes they give me tips, but rarely. (Tip your tour guides if you enjoy your tour you guys!)

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I made a whole purse out of chainmaille once. It took a LONG time to do, but it was really cute! It sold on New Year's day. It made me really happy.

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
I make a lot of things in my head that just don't work out at all once I try to maille them into existence. I usually just take them apart and try to recycle the rings into something that's actually pretty.
Most people don't know that I make synthetic dreadlocks as well. I have made a TON of those that were just plain old ugly and fuzzy and would never sell.

Explain your etsy shop name
First off, look how cute they are!

The Nashville zoo has a pair of red pandas, and I had a membership there so I would go see them once a week or so. They are adorable, and they walk pigeon-toed, and they scratch their butts on sticks. What's not to love? Sure it has nothing to do with chainmail, but I love em!

Angelina or Jen?
I don't really watch TV or movies, but I'd definitely pick Jen. I don't understand why everyone like's Angelina's lips. I think Jen has more of a natural beauty. And my boyfriend's sister is named Jennifer. As was my mom. I don't even know anyone named Angelina.

Final words?
Don't forget the bug spray when walking in the woods.
Go play with your dog!

Featured Seller: Kathyys Krafts

I love ugly crafts.

Yes it's true. One of my favorite parts of this blog is asking people to share their biggest craft disasters. I love how people can laugh about their early days at the kiln or -- ahem -- terrifying attempts to learn how to sew at age 35 when most etsy people are already sewing $300 dresses.

For example.

So in honor of KathyysKrafts, who has the strength later in this post to face her craft demon, I give you this:

fugly1

I hate this thing. Truly. I sewed it a few months ago. Not only is the fabric Too Quaker For Prime Time, it's just a mess. An embarassment. A wart on the bum of the crafting world.

I am sorry.

To help you shake the memory of my shame, allow me to introduce you to the classy and sassy KathyysKrafts.

Your Shop Name
KathyysKrafts

Your real name
Katherine is my legal name but I use Kathyy (yes it's spelled with a double y)on almost everything.

Fifth grade teacher?
Sorry I can barely remember the names of people I met last month, definitely can't remember a name from 5th grade. My ongoing joke is that I'd forget my own name if I didn't have to tell it to people so often.

When did you first start crafting?
It feels like I have been crafting forever. When I was really young (elementary school) I used to make things for my mom, family, and close friends. Hopefully my ability and artistic skills have improved since them. Right now I dabble with card making, jewelry making, candle making, scrapbooking, stamping, and paper making. Previously I did some painting. In the future I'd like to try bead making and some woodworking.

Got a day job? What is it?
In my day job I do career counseling and program management. I use my creativity and passion for helping people to assist college students and recent graduates with identifying what kinds of work match who they are and what employers can employ them in those career areas.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud of the items that I make for my family. I think it's because I get to see them enjoying it. One set I made for my aunt can be seen here:

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
I would not say that anything I make is ugly. However I once made an ice candle that was very unusual and probably not something that most people would appreciate.

Explain your etsy shop name
My unique spelling of Kathyy came about some 11 years ago when I met my husband in a Chicago chat room on IRC. I decided to use the unique spelling in really life because I like being unique and it's has always been a great conversation piece. It also looks interesting when my full name is written out. Written out I have a double y in my first name; a double n in my middle name; and a double t plus two sets of double e in my last name. For the second part of my shop name I thought that since I spelled my first name uniquely, I also want to spell the second part uniquely . . . thus came about Kathyy's Krafts. It's unique, concise, informative, and memorable; everything a good title should be.

Angelina or Jen?
Hmmm, if I must talk about a Hollywood figure I pick Morgan Freeman. He has amazing talent, an interesting life story, and reminds me a lot of my granddad who died many years ago.

Final words?
Right now my shop is fairly small but I look forward to watching it grow as I'm inspired to create more things and hopefully get some custom orders. I love doing custom orders so if you don't see what you want at KathyysKrafts.etsy.com you can send me a convo or email me at kathyyskrafts@gmail.com.

If you would like to see more examples of my work visit my My Space page right here.

Featured Seller: Beedz with a Zing!

Damn you, Beedz With a Zing!
You made me look up the word "Ackamarackus."

I hate you for that.

Best I can tell, Ackamarackus is a book of fables. It's also a word that means "tall tales." But I'm not so bright. And google can only help me so much.

But enough with my inadequacies. More about Beedz With a Zing! , who is not only smarter than I'll ever be, but clearly a talented crafter too!

Your Shop Name
Beedz With a Zing!

Your real name
Shaina

Fifth grade teacher?
I was homeschooled from fourth grade on, so my parents were my teachers.

When did you first start crafting?
I've always been interested in making things. I used to create all kinds of things as a kid. I even built a teepee which I lovingly dubbed "Shaina's Tipi". Hey..I was young! As for my current crafting adventures, I started making earrings a few years ago, just as a way to keep sane while I stayed by myself for an entire week. It just took off from there. I recently taught myself how to crochet, so that has opened a whole new door for crafting!

Got a day job? What is it?
I am full time student, studying Elementary Education. I also work part time for a home school supply business.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud currently of the Mad Mad Monster hat. It was an idea I had, and I simply ran with it. I'm amazed at how well it turned out!

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
The ugliest thing I have EVER made would have to be what was dubbed "Chucky". It was my first attempt at an amigurumi animal, and it came out looking so, so deformed. So bad in fact, I destroyed all photos of it, as well as the...thing....itself.

Explain your etsy shop name.
When I first began making earrings, I was desperately trying to think up a name. I employed the help of my little brother, he came up with Beads with a Zing. A local store owner (where I have some of my earrings on display) gave me the idea of changing the spelling. So it then because Beedz with a Zing. I took it from there and chose the happy little bee as my mascot, of sorts.

Angelina or Jen?
ARGH! Neither. Both are way overrated spoiled little brats who need an education about how things are in the real world. *jumps off soapbox*

Final words?
Persnickety. Repudiation. Suttle. Ackamarackus. The end!

Featured Seller: Kezzaroo

Oh cranky, cranky Powderpuff.

It was a Thursday. The rain was still falling, the weight was still climbing, the boss still whining.

Poor Powderpuff was about to beat the tar out of someone.

And then, she saw this:

Humor. It does a body good. Thank you Kezzaroo

Thank you.

Your Shop Name
Kezzaroo

Your real name
Kerrie

Fifth grade teacher?
Mr Cooper, a motorbike riding, spit spraying machine.

When did you first start crafting?
I started to really get into it when I was about 15, there was this amazing stall in town that had various ear wires and beads, chain and sparkly things I went in every weekend to spend my pocket money there, hooked. I grew up, family happened, crafting stopped for many years, but then one day it came back with a vengeance and now I'm an unstoppable crafting machine.

Got a day job? What is it?
Nope i have a night job, i work one or two evenings a week lecturing at college. At the moment I teach Indian Head Massage but I also teach Reflexology which I love! The rest of the time im a mum.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud of this:

I love poppy jasper and every time I've worn my own version of this item I've had many compliments on it, thats usually when I start schmoozing and handing out business cards ;)

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
The ugliest thing I've ever made was probably a clay candle holder in high school, in the shape of a toilet of all things?! I think mum "accidentally" broke it so there are no pics thankfully.

Explain your etsy shop name.
Just a nickname ive had for many years, I've always been Kezzaroo or Kezzatron, I only briefly started to go off it when my ex's old girlfriend started hanging round him and called me it all the time, but I refused to let her get to me lol.

Angelina or Jen?
Neither, Angelina is SO over rated, I'm more of a Famke Janssen fan, literally THE most gorgeous woman on the planet, she makes angelina look like a cheap slut :)

Final words?
Supporting hand crafter artists is the way forward, thanks so much!!

No time for witty banter today folks! It's icy out, the kid has blabbermouth syndrome and my husband is giving me dirty looks.

Yikes!

Without further adieu, allow me to introduce the fabulously talented Beadsnall

Your Shop Name:
Beadsnall

Your real name:
Debbie

Fifth grade teacher?
Mrs. Ogston – old, old woman who lived behind us the year she was my teacher.

When did you first start crafting?
About six. My grandma taught me to knit with one broken plastic needle and one metal one. We tied all her scraps together and I must have knitted and purled that scrap about 5,000 times. When I was done, it was gross and dirty!

Got a day job? What is it?
Luckily, after 27 years of working for the phone company, I am happily retired. My day job now it being a mom to a 16 yr old daughter.

What creation are you most proud of and why?
I really like my Forever Calendars. Although I did not come up with the original concept, I created mine all on my own. I did the layout and took all the photos. I like this one because it is a variety of different flowers.

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
Fortunately, I don’t have a photo. In the mid 70’s, I macraméd a wall sized lime green with wooden beads room divider. UGLY! I’m sure it was acrylic cording, too.

Explain your etsy shop name.
I started with beaded bookmarks and key chains and then so many people like my crocheted dishcloths, I started posting them. I also have an interest in photography and making cards. So, it’s really beads and all other things – beads ‘n all

Angelina or Jen?
Tough one. I think Jen. No one should have to go through what she did publicly.

Final words?
Thanks for having me on your blog. This is a great idea. I’m very much appreciative.

And this!

Oh Paper Zombie. Being a victim never felt so good.

Your Shop Name
Paper Zombie

Your real name
Vanessa

Fifth grade teacher?
Mrs. Sullivan

When did you first start crafting?
I've been crafting since I can remember. Sometimes it wasn't too good, but I always loved making little things for my family for christmas. I think we are all a little crafty in some way.

Got a day job? What is it?
My fiance. HAHA. I feel like his mother sometimes. Paper Zombie is my full time day job!

What creation are you most proud of and why?
Paper Zombie really concentrates on promotional items for other shop but I do also dabble in other things. Because promotional products dont allow me to be a creative as if I was doing another craft, when I make my paper bag albums, I really love them. Right now, my favorite one is the Wedding one.

I think that the color and the patterns I chose for this album make it look really crisp and professional.

What's the ugliest thing you ever made?
Holy cow batman. When I first started an etsy shop (a different user name) i made these horribly shrinky dink earrings. I didnt have any jump rings so I used fishing wire to attach them, they were horrible! I dont have pics and if I did, I would burn them haha.

Explain your etsy shop name: Paper Zombie!
EHHH, My fiance says I have way too much paper. When we go out of town, i look up every scrapbook store in that city and I have enough paper to open up my own shop!!! I am a zombie for paper. I LOVE PAPER :D

Angelina or Jen?:
Angelina. I dont know lol

Final words?
Enjoy what you do so that others will too!
